History

Criterium Engineers was established to provide engineering reports on the condition of homes. It was one of the first companies to offer such a service in the United States and Canada and has been a primary participant in the development of what is now a thriving national home inspection industry.

Criterium-White Engineers joined the Criterium network in 1999. Kendall W. White, P.E., CEM owns and operates the Johnston, Iowa office serving central Iowa and the city of Des Moines. Mr. White is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Iowa and Minnesota with over 20 years experience in engineering design and management. He has been awarded the Certified Energy Manager distinction from the Association of Energy Engineers.

In addition to commercial building and residential investigative, structural, and environmental engineering, he has specific experience in instrumentation and control systems, building environmental system evaluation and design, process control and optimization, energy and economic analysis, and project management.

Today Criterium Engineers has offices across the United States and provides more than 27,000 building inspections annually. The systems developed by Criterium Engineers continues to set the national standard for the home inspection industry.
